This 2012 has been a very profitable year for foundation activity. The progress of better organized participation and more attractive projects by business foundations is gladly observed in the country and warn that next year will be an even more intense year. Business foundations are not only financing CSO initiatives, but are also increasingly participating with resources to strengthen the social sector by allocating or financing training, research, support and advice. They also financed the publication of books on the activity of the sector or tools for the better management of institutions. These are some of the most notable events in which different business foundations were involved in: January • The Soriana Foundation acted quickly to join the fight against the effects of the drought that hit the Tarahumara mountain range • Actinver reaffirmed its support for the Clara Moreno y Miramón Foundation • Metlife supported the León XIII Foundation, which it directs, with a major auction Enrique Vargas de la Mora • The Helvex Foundation carried out an intense program to improve hydro-sanitary facilities in public schools in the country • Coca Cola Foundation successfully initiated the National Reforestation and Water Harvesting Program • The Chihuahuense Business Foundation announced which in 2011 invested more than 120 million pesos in the entity February • The BBVA Bancomer Foundation announced financial support for programs for older adults .
